Vintage quilt from circa 1940s with an appliquéd Tulip pattern. It measures 74 inches by 76 inches. The hand appliqué is very well done, the blocks are machine pieced, and the pink binding is applied by machine on the top and by hand on the back.
There are 9 Tulip blocks, set on point, and measures 13 inches square. There are also a small tulip block at each corner.
There is a 4 inch pink border followed by a 6.5 inch white border.
It is hand quilted at 9 spi, with a star pattern in the alternating blocks and a wave motif in each border.
Pink and green is one of my favorite color combinations, and if my husband wasn’t so anti pink, I would have this quilt hanging in my room!
It is in very good condition, the only detraction is the pencil lines used to mark the quilting. From experience, these lines do not come out in gentle washing.
